Champions League draw pairs PSG with Man City and Villa

Paris St-Germain will take on Manchester City, Aston Villa and Barcelona in the league phase of this season’s Champions League after the draw set up a demanding schedule for the European champions.

PSG handed standout ties

PSG, now back-to-back winners of the competition, were paired with two Premier League clubs in City and Villa, while a meeting with five-time European champions Barcelona also stands out among their fixtures.

The French side will host Barcelona at Parc des Princes and travel to both Villa Park and Manchester during the league phase. The draw gives PSG a set of high-profile tests as they begin another campaign as one of the leading contenders in Europe.

Arsenal face Real Madrid and Bayern trip

Premier League champions Arsenal were also given a heavyweight draw. Mikel Arteta’s side will welcome Real Madrid to Emirates Stadium and travel to Bayern Munich.

Arsenal, who lost to PSG on penalties in last season’s final, will also come up against Borussia Dortmund, Real Betis, Lille, Napoli, Sabah and Slavia Prague. It is a varied list of opponents that mixes established European names with unfamiliar challenges.

City, Villa and United learn their paths

Manchester City will host PSG at Etihad Stadium and travel to Barcelona, where Rodri now plays after his summer move to the Nou Camp. City will also face another former midfielder when Napoli visit Manchester, with Kevin de Bruyne among the notable reunion storylines from the draw.

Enzo Maresca’s side were also paired with Sporting, Porto, RB Leipzig, AEK Athens and Lens.

Aston Villa, back in the competition after a season away and entering as Europa League winners, will host PSG and Borussia Dortmund. Their away trips include Barcelona and Galatasaray, while Club Brugge, Fenerbahce, Viking and Slavia Prague complete their schedule.

Manchester United, returning to the Champions League after a two-year absence, were drawn against Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, Roma, Sporting, Leipzig, Villarreal, Sabah and Como.

Liverpool fixtures and key dates confirmed

Liverpool’s league-phase programme includes home matches against Atletico Madrid, Porto, Villarreal and Lens. They will travel to face Inter Milan, Club Brugge, Fenerbahce and LASK.

The first matches in the league phase will be played on Tuesday, 8 September, with the final round scheduled for 27 January 2027. The exact fixture list is due to be released on Saturday.

Final venue already set

UEFA has also confirmed that the 2026-27 Champions League final will be staged at the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid, adding another landmark date to the calendar as clubs prepare for the new campaign.
