Sport.pl, citing Mundo Deportivo, reports that Barcelona's position is firm: Torres is not on the market. The club are said to view the Spain international as part of their plans and are prepared to continue with him even as speculation around the forward line grows.

The report adds that Barcelona want to discuss a new contract from September, once the summer transfer window has closed. That would come even though such a move would reportedly trigger an additional payment to Manchester City, linked to a clause agreed when Torres originally joined the Catalan club.

It is also stated that head coach Hansi Flick is counting on Torres as he shapes the squad for the coming campaign.

PSG links and wider attacking plans

Torres has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, but the latest update suggests that interest has not changed Barcelona's internal view.
