Mohamed Salah move puts Trabzonspor in global spotlight

Mohamed Salah’s agreement to join Trabzonspor has placed the Turkish club firmly in the international spotlight, while also reviving an old Liverpool connection with the city that dates back nearly half a century.

A Liverpool link that goes back to 1976

This October marks 50 years since Liverpool first faced Trabzonspor in the European Cup, a tie remembered as much for the surroundings as the football itself.
