Al-Hilal linked with Harry Kane and Ollie Watkins

Al-Hilal are reportedly considering ambitious moves for two England forwards, with Harry Kane and Ollie Watkins both mentioned in the latest round of transfer speculation. The Saudi Pro League club are said to have held talks involving Kane’s camp, while Watkins has also emerged as a target.

Kane linked, but Bayern future still in focus

Kane’s situation appears to be the most complex of the two. The Bayern Munich striker is reportedly open to a future move to Al-Hilal, with discussions said to have taken place involving his representatives.

At the same time, the England captain is also understood to want to remain at Bayern. Talks have reportedly started over a new contract in Munich, which leaves his immediate future far from settled despite the interest from Saudi Arabia.

Any move would also be shaped by timing. With the Bundesliga transfer window closing on 31 August, there would be little room for delay if Bayern were to entertain a deal before the deadline.

Watkins also on Al-Hilal radar

Al-Hilal’s interest is not thought to stop with Kane. Ollie Watkins is also being linked with the club, and reports suggest the Aston Villa forward has agreed personal terms.

There is, however, still a significant step missing. Al-Hilal have not yet officially submitted a bid to Aston Villa for the 30-year-old, meaning the situation remains at an early stage despite the apparent progress on the player side.

Reports differ on the club’s wider plan in attack. Some suggest Al-Hilal are weighing up whether to sign one striker or more than one, while others indicate Watkins became a stronger option after a move for Kane failed to fully develop.

Another sign of Saudi ambition

Even at rumour stage, the links underline the scale of Al-Hilal’s ambition. Kane remains one of the most prominent strikers in European football, while Watkins has established himself as a leading Premier League forward. Pursuing both at the same time would represent a major statement.

For now, though, the key detail is that neither situation appears straightforward. Kane is still tied closely to Bayern and to discussions over his future in Germany, while Watkins has yet to become the subject of a formal approach to Aston Villa.

As a result, Al-Hilal’s striker search looks active rather than advanced. Whether the club end up with Kane, Watkins, both or neither remains unclear, but their interest in England internationals is firmly part of the current transfer conversation.
