Jamie O'Hara says Tottenham should move for Marcus Rashford

Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara believes Spurs should look seriously at a move for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford as the club weighs up options in the transfer market.

Speaking on Sky Sports' Tottenham summer special podcast, O'Hara said Tottenham should pursue Rashford despite the obvious financial challenge involved in any deal. He argued that the England forward would be a high-level addition for Spurs at a time when his future at Manchester United remains unclear.

O'Hara also said Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi could be well suited to getting the best out of Rashford, describing him as the right kind of manager to work with a player in that situation.

His view was straightforward: if Tottenham are exploring attacking reinforcements, Rashford is a player they should be considering.

Left-sided forward remains a priority

Even so, Rashford was the player he returned to most strongly, making clear that he sees the Manchester United forward as the standout option.

The financial question

The main obstacle raised by O'Hara was Rashford's wage level. He noted that the forward is on £350,000 a week and acknowledged that such a figure could put the move beyond Tottenham's reach.

That caveat is significant. While O'Hara's argument focused on Rashford's quality, he also accepted that any realistic attempt to bring him to north London would have to overcome major financial barriers.

Still, his stance was that Rashford's talent makes the discussion worthwhile, particularly for a Tottenham side looking to strengthen in a key attacking area.
