How the BTTS market works

BTTS stands for both teams to score. The bet lands when each side gets at least one goal, whatever the final score. Bookmakers price it as a yes or no, and some add a first-half version.

For each side we work out the share of its last 30 matches in which both teams scored, and separately how often it scored itself. Together those three figures show whether the pattern comes from two attacking sides or from one-sided games.

The strongest signal is a high share for both sides at once. If one team scores in almost every match and the other rarely does, a high figure for the fixture can be down to the first side's form alone - which is why each side's scoring rate is shown separately rather than folded into one number.

Frequently asked questions

Does BTTS settle after 90 minutes?
Yes, normal time plus stoppage time. Goals in extra time and penalty shootouts in cup ties do not count towards this market.
Is 0-0 a losing bet?
Yes. BTTS needs a goal from each side, so any result where either team fails to score - 0-0, 1-0 or 3-0 - is a loss.
Why are the best picks missing?
The highest-ranked fixtures of the day stay in the BTTS module. What is shown here sits below them in the ranking, with the same data behind it.
