HT/FT reversal stats for today's matches
HT/FTTeam pairs whose head-to-heads most often saw the half-time leader lose.
What is a half-time/full-time swing?
An HT/FT break is a match in which the team leading at half-time loses the whole match: the home side leads and the away side wins (HT/FT 1/2), or the other way round (HT/FT 2/1). An HT/FT bet combines both results in one selection, which is why odds on breaks usually run from 15.00 to 35.00.
High odds mean a rare event: across European leagues the classic 2/1 or 1/2 swing happens in a low single-digit share of matches. This page does not promise to hit it. It shows which matches have the statistical preconditions and how often similar situations have occurred before.
How to use the HT/FT database
Pick a date and the list shows matches between teams whose head-to-head meetings most often ended with the half-time leader losing the whole match. A window of 5 to 30 recent meetings decides how much history we take into account.
Clicking a match opens the analysis: breaks in the H2H windows, breaks in each team's last 10, 20 and 30 matches, and a list of meetings with the half-time score.
When swings happen most often
Most reversals happen in leagues with plenty of goals and weak defending in the second half. In such leagues a 0:1 lead at half-time is the least durable. Home favourites who trail after the first half turn it around more often: their quality edge has another 45 minutes to show, while the opponent drops back to defend.
Also watch teams that regularly score after the 60th minute, and matches where the half-time goal came from a penalty or in stoppage time. That kind of lead rarely reflects superiority in play. The database computes these relationships from finished matches, not opinions.
Frequently asked questions
- What does HT/FT 2/1 mean?
- The first symbol is the half-time result and the second is the final result: 1 is a home win, X a draw, 2 an away win. HT/FT 2/1 means the away side led after the first half and the home side won the match. These combinations (2/1 and 1/2) are what we call HT/FT breaks.
- What are typical odds on a swing?
- Regulated bookmakers usually price HT/FT 2/1 or 1/2 between 15.00 and 35.00, depending on whether the team completing the turnaround is the favourite. X/1 and X/2 are lower (roughly 4.00–7.00) because a half-time draw is far more common.
- Are swings a good bet in the long run?
- It is a bet with a low hit rate and a high payout: a single hit covers many losses, but runs without a hit are long. A sensible strategy is a small, fixed stake and choosing matches in which the statistics (not the odds alone) show frequent reversals. Judge the result after several dozen bets, not after one weekend.
