Players

Goals · assists · cards

Players in the day's matches with the most goals, assists and cards over their team's last matches, all competitions.

What the players table shows

For every match of the day, the table lists the players of both teams with the most goals, assists, yellow cards or red cards in their team's recent matches, all competitions included. Each row shows the total, the share of matches in which the player scored, assisted or was booked, and his form match by match.

Players are ranked by the total, then by the number of matches with at least one, then per appearance. Each team is represented by its best few players, so every match of the day has names on the list. A row opens the player's match-by-match history, and his name opens his player page.

Where the figures come from

The numbers come from the official per-match player statistics: minutes, goals, assists and cards of every player on the match sheet. They exist for the top leagues, the main second divisions and national teams; lower leagues and youth football publish no per-player figures, so their teams do not appear.

The window is the team's last 5, 10, 15 or 20 finished matches before the day. The share of matches is counted over the matches the player actually played, and the form strip marks the ones he missed. Once the lineups are announced, each player is tagged Starting XI, Bench or Not in squad; before that, the injury list shows who is out and who is doubtful.

How to use it for player bets

Anytime scorer, assist and to-be-booked markets are priced on a player's recent involvement. A striker who has scored in seven of his team's last ten matches, or a midfielder who is booked every other game, stands out here at a glance.

Check the lineup before you bet: a player on the bench or out injured turns every figure into history. Look at the minutes as well — a regular starter and a late substitute with the same number of goals are not the same bet.

Frequently asked questions

Which matches does a player's figure cover?
His team's last 5, 10, 15 or 20 finished matches before the day, in every competition. The share of matches is counted over the matches he played; the form strip shows all of the team's matches, with a dash where he did not play.
Why are some matches or players missing?
A team is listed only when at least three matches of the window have player statistics, and a player only with at least one goal, assist or card in it. Lower leagues and youth football have no per-player data, so their matches do not appear.
What do Starting XI, Bench and Not in squad mean?
They come from the official lineup, published about an hour before kick-off. Until then the tag comes from the injury list: Out means the player will miss the match, Doubtful that his participation is uncertain.
How often is the table updated?
The ranking is built from the matches finished before the day and does not change during it. The lineup and injury tags refresh every few minutes as the teams announce them.
