What a half-time/full-time swing is

A swing, or HT/FT, means the team leading at half-time does not win the match: they are ahead at the break and end up drawing or losing. Bookmakers price it as a correct-score-style market, which is why the odds are long — it is an uncommon result.

We go through every recent meeting between the two teams and count how many ended in a swing, then do the same for each side's own recent fixtures. A pairing with several swings in its history is one where leads have repeatedly failed to hold.

The headline number is how many of the recent head-to-head meetings swung. Read it together with the total: three swings in eight meetings says far more than three in thirty. This is a base rate from past matches, not a probability for tonight.

Frequently asked questions

Does a high swing count mean the match will swing?
No. It means leads have not held between these teams in the past. That is a starting point for your own judgement, not a forecast — form, line-ups and motivation all move the real chance.
Why are the strongest picks not on this page?
