Marcel Reguła in line for first Poland senior call-up
Marcel Reguła could be set for his first senior Poland call-up as Jan Urban prepares to name his squad for the next international camp.

Marcel Reguła appears to be closing in on a first senior call-up for Poland, with reports indicating that Jan Urban plans to include the Zagłębie Lubin player in his squad for the upcoming international camp.
Reguła’s rise puts him in the frame
The prospect of a senior opportunity has been building for some time. Reguła had already established himself as one of the more highly regarded young Polish players last season, producing encouraging displays for both Zagłębie Lubin and Poland’s Under-21 side.
That form had already prompted calls from sections of supporters and media for him to be given a chance at senior level. According to Interia, Urban is now ready to act on that possibility and place the young midfielder on the list for the next Poland gathering.
Urban’s interest has been closely watched
The reported decision would not come as a surprise given Urban’s recent presence at Zagłębie Lubin matches. The Poland head coach has been seen in the stands in recent weeks, and Reguła is understood to have been one of the players under particular observation.
His performances this season have done little to cool the growing excitement around him. Reguła has already scored two goals in the current campaign, further underlining why he is viewed as a player with significant upside.
Attention from Borussia Dortmund adds to the picture
Reguła’s progress has not gone unnoticed beyond Poland. During the summer, he was also linked with Borussia Dortmund, with the Bundesliga club said to have shown interest in him. Even without a move materialising, that attention offered another indication of how highly his potential is rated.
A senior Poland call-up would represent another important step in that development, giving him the chance to move from youth international recognition into the full national-team environment.
Squad announcement approaching before busy Nations League spell
Urban is due to announce his squad for the September-October camp on Friday 18 September at 9:00. If the reports are confirmed, Reguła’s name will be among the most closely watched on the list.
Poland are preparing for a demanding stretch in the Nations League, with four matches scheduled during the camp.
- Bośnia and Herzegovina - 25 September
- Sweden - 28 September
- Romania - 2 October
- Bośnia and Herzegovina - 5 October
All four fixtures are set to kick off at 20:45.
Urban is, however, expected to be without Oskar Pietuszewski. The FC Porto winger is recovering from injury and will not be considered for this camp.
