Barcelona hit five past Feyenoord in Champions League opener

Barcelona opened their Champions League campaign in emphatic fashion, beating Feyenoord Rotterdam 5-1 at Camp Nou and extending their winning run to five matches in all competitions. Yamal and Jesus complete the statement win

Barcelona’s attacking depth continued to show in the closing stages. Fermin Lopez forced a save from Ernst not long after coming on, before Yamal got his goal from a free-kick, helped by poor positioning in the defensive wall.

Feyenoord did manage to score through Sem Steijn after Goncalo Borges delivered to the far post, but any hope of a late shift in momentum was quickly extinguished. Gabriel Jesus, only recently introduced, added Barcelona’s fifth after meeting another contribution from Yamal.
